
Senior Mine Planning Specialist

About the Role
">- Developing daily and weekly schedules aligned to the monthly mine plan and targets requires strong planning skills. This role involves detailed planning, stakeholder engagement, and an understanding of projects, costs, dump construction methodologies, and long-term strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create weekly schedules and support monthly pit and overburden emplacement facility planning processes.
- Provide guidance to technical staff and planners, including participation in planning meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Liaise with maintenance teams to optimize equipment maintenance scheduling for maximum efficiency.
- Act as process owner for short-term overburden placement facility (OEF) design and inspection processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Manage weekly data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with business needs by validating inputs and reconciling performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize resources and deliver against the mine plan, ensuring all designs meet operational requirements.
- Provide expertise on OEF sequencing and construction methodologies to drive efficient plans that meet operational requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
">- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining or a similar relevant tertiary qualification.
- Have at least three years' experience in open-pit metalliferous mining operations, with demonstrated knowledge of mining engineering systems, mine design, and scheduling.
- Be proficient in mine planning software such as Vulcan or Deswik.
- Have experience with overburden emplacement facility management and strong planning background with proven success in improving efficiency and achieving outcomes.
