Job Overview

The Grounds Worker is a vital role within our organization, responsible for maintaining the grounds and gardens of a cemetery. This position involves operating various equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, edgers, and hedgers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the appearance of the grounds and gardens through regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, pruning, and weeding.
  • Operating heavy machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
  • Identifying and addressing potential hazards or issues with the grounds and gardens, reporting them to management as necessary.
  • Assisting with special events and projects as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with heavy machinery and in a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
