The role of Assistant Director, Information Management involves leading a small team in the development and implementation of an information management framework strategy. This includes working across the agency to deliver effective information and knowledge management outcomes for the organisation.

Key responsibilities include ensuring that information management standards and procedures are being followed, and identifying opportunities to improve the use of information and data management systems and tools across the organisation.

","

Strong communication skills are required to engage with staff and stakeholders, including executive level leaders, to improve understanding of information management practices.

","

The successful candidate will also contribute to the acquisition, implementation, and use of information management systems that improve and build on the AEC's information skills and maturity.

","

Additionally, the role involves monitoring industry best practice processes and protocols to inform the provision of sound advice on information management digitisation and record keeping practices.

","

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to advocate for and explain policy to the agency and tailor the content and format of information delivery to suit different audiences.
  • Understanding of or ability to learn ISO 16175 Principles and Functional Requirements for Records in Electronic Office Environments and relevant legislation and standards that impact on information management.
  • Proven ability to monitor program outcomes and analyse against budget specifications including procurement and contract management.
  • Proven ability to communicate with influence negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven conceptual and analytical abilities with sound knowledge of change management practices and techniques to enable innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff while developing capabilities encouraging career development and embedding professionalism.
  • Demonstrated personal drive and integrity whilst achieving results within legislative parameters.
