Job Overview
The Personnel Security Governance Director role requires a senior leader to oversee and shape the personnel security function for a federal government agency in Australia.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead and maintain comprehensive security frameworks aligned with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
Incorporate security into onboarding and offboarding processes across the organization.
Oversee risk management processes for international travel and secondments, ensuring compliance with PSPF guidelines.
Develop, manage, and continuously improve security policies, awareness initiatives, and reporting mechanisms.
Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments, including ICT, Risk Management, Governance, HR, and executive functions.
Provide operational support to the security team during peak periods as needed.
Key Requirements:
A highly experienced personnel security specialist with a minimum of 5 years' experience and in-depth knowledge of PSPF and government security protocols.
Demonstrated expertise in managing PSPF-aligned personnel security functions.
Strong policy development and risk governance capabilities.
Ability to work independently in a high-trust environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a NV1 clearance.
