Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to oversee the transportation section of the Transport and Logistics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of transport specialists, ensuring the provision of efficient transportation distribution services, and overseeing the loading and unloading, movement, and transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead a team of transport specialists, including day and shift workers, and coordinate shift coverages due to personnel absences or management of interruptions to site events.
  • Transport Planning: Create and manage bus rosters covering all required runs, including alternating schedules for public holidays and other instances as required.
  • Special Events: Coordinate transport requirements for special events.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct basic pre-inspections of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy, report any and all faults to the transport supervisor, and carry out basic maintenance on vehicles.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements, maintain tracking of all appropriate licenses and endorsements for all site employees, and ensure equipment is not operated with an expired or revoked license or endorsement.
  • Training and Development: Maintain tracking of all appropriate licenses and endorsements for transport specialists and provide training or upskilling where relevant.
  • Vehicle Management: Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition, ensuring registration and insurance requirements are met, and maintain records of registration and insurance for all vehicles.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions, and trainings, encouraging a safety-focused culture, and participating in and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.
Requirements
  • Certification: Certificate in Logistics/Transport Operations.
  • Licenses and Endorsements: Current Driver's License, Forklift License, H Endorsement, and HR License.
  • Experience and Skills: Experience in transportation roles, leadership and management, and knowledge of transport regulations.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
  • The position is desk-based and sedentary in nature, with occasional lifting of items up to 5kgs.
  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting, and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
  • The ability to lift items up to 10kgs independently.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Statement of Work Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
  • Australian or US citizen.
EHS Requirement

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health, and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and ensuring compliance with requirements of the Handbook, each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner.
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager.
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health, and safety procedures outlined in the Handbook during the performance of their work.
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to 'STOP WORK' if a job is unsafe or poses a danger to the environment.
