About the Graduate Program

McColl's Transport's 2-year Graduate Program is designed to equip graduates with the foundational skills necessary for a successful career in the logistics industry. The program provides a structured learning experience, with rotations through various departments and exposure to real-world business operations.

Program Components

The program consists of two core elements:

Operational Divisions - Rotations

Graduates will rotate through McColl's Transport's four operating units:

  • Fleet Management: responsible for the maintenance and operation of vehicles and equipment
  • Farm Pickup: specializes in the collection of milk from dairy farms
  • Bulk Food: transports ingredients for industrial food customers
  • Bulk Chemicals: services customers in manufacturing industries

Each graduate will have an experienced mentor to guide their learning and experience. The rotation will include on-the-ground work experience, where graduates will spend time with drivers, customers, mechanics, and suppliers.

Strategy and Analytics

The second dimension of the program focuses on developing general business skills, including:

  • Office and professional etiquette
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and report writing skills
  • Process mapping
  • Data preparation and analysis
  • Data handling tools
  • Introduction to project management
  • Ad-hoc project work for other support divisions (HR, Safety, Finance, IT, etc.)

This element of the program helps graduates develop confidence in professional environments, interact with a wide range of people, and learn to process unstructured information.
