Job Title: Legal Advisor - Trade Remedies

The Anti-Dumping Commission is seeking a skilled legal professional to provide client-focused legal services as a Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be part of the Legal and Regulatory Affairs team, working collaboratively with investigators and stakeholders to deliver a level playing field for Australian manufacturers.

About the Role:

The Legal Counsel will work under limited direction, providing specialist legal advice and support on complex matters related to trade remedies law and investigative practice. Key duties include:

  • Providing effective legal advice verbally and in writing;
  • Actively contributing to a positive, productive, and collaborative team environment;
  • Monitoring developments in international trade law and informing the Commission of consequences for legislation, policy, and practice;
  • Assisting in the running of the Commission's participation in merits reviews;
  • Providing input to develop legislation and policy;
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous practice and operational improvement.

Requirements:

To be eligible for employment, applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a Baseline security clearance.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and admission (or eligibility for admission) as an Australian Lawyer;
  • Legal experience in advisory, government, or regulatory practice, particularly in areas such as international trade, administrative/public law, or commercial/competition law.
