
Care Services Team Lead

Lead a dedicated team supporting vulnerable children and families.
The role involves driving culturally safe and trauma-informed care practices, overseeing intake, assessment and care planning processes, supervising and mentoring support workers and practitioners, collaborating with families and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, promoting culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, contributing to continuous improvement and service innovation, and participating in after-hours and on-call support as required.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the delivery of high-quality services to children, youth and families in statutory care
- Provide practice oversight, mentoring and operational leadership to ensure safe, inclusive and effective service delivery
- Collaborate with families, carers and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes
- Ensure compliance with child protection legislation and best practice guidelines
- Promote culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Contribute to continuous improvement and service innovation initiatives
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
- At least 3 years' experience in child protection or youth/family services
- Experience leading a team in a care or support setting
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child development
- Demonstrated understanding of child protection and out-of-home care systems, including familiarity with relevant legislation
- Experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children, young people, families and communities
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
- A current driver's licence
- A current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check
