Dynamic Service Leader Position

We are seeking a confident, values-driven leader to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality services to children, youth, and families in statutory care.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience leading a team in a care or support setting.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection and out-of-home care systems, including familiarity with relevant legislation.
  • Experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children, young people, families, and communities in an organisational context.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee intake, assessment, and care planning processes.
  • Supervise and mentor support workers and practitioners.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Promote culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and service innovation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in child protection or youth/family services.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • A current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety, and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or ability to acquire.
