Empowering Young Lives as a Youth Support Worker

This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect. As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide individualized support and care, empowering young people to develop skills and strengths within a therapeutic model of care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting independent living skills and helping young people achieve their goals. This may involve engaging with local communities, assisting with daily care and household duties, and transporting individuals to appointments. You will also support connections to family and culture, and collaborate with other professionals to deliver multi-disciplinary care.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of strength-based trauma-informed practice and its application in residential care settings.
  • Qualifications in Community Services, Residential Care, Welfare or related areas (Cert IV). Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. A flexible approach to rostering, including weekends and evenings, is also essential.
