Job Title:

Youth Support Worker - Trauma Informed Care

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Youth Support Worker to join our dynamic team.

About the Role:

  • You will work with young people in our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Program, providing services that achieve positive outcomes for youth and their families.
  • You will provide safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing house guidelines and supporting individual strategies and case plans.
  • You will participate in team meetings, house meetings, and case review meetings to ensure young people receive services that meet their needs.

Your Day Would Include:

  • Mentor and engage young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth.
  • Role model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility.
  • Empower youth by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives.
  • Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment.
  • Collaborate with a vibrant team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person.

What You Bring:

  • A Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
  • A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a commitment to cultural competency.
  • A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively.

Requirements:

  • Valid and current driver's license.
  • Valid and current workers with children check.
  • Valid and current NDIS workers screeners check.
  • Satisfactory criminal history check.
