Excavation Assistant: Start Your Underground Diamond Drilling Career
">We are seeking entry-level individuals to join our team as underground diamond driller's assistants at Cowal Operations in West Wylong, New South Wales. We offer a supportive work environment where you can grow personally and professionally.
Job Responsibilities:
- Retrieve core from inner tubes and empty into core trays.
- Perform repetitive heavy lifting of over 20kgs.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure all workspaces are clean.
- Identify and rectify potential hazards and communicate immediately to the driller or supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Hold a current Australian manual driver's licence.
- Possess a National Police Clearance issued within the past three months.
- Demonstrate clear ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
- Display a proactive attitude toward safety and hazard identification.
- Show willingness to perform shift work and be away from home for two weeks at a time.
- Be mechanically inclined with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Undergo a pre-employment medical check including a drug & alcohol screen.
- Exhibit a positive work ethic aligned with our vision and principles.
- Avaible to attend the assessment centre for our selection process.
Highly Desirable:
- Working at Heights Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Previous experience in labour-intensive, physical roles.
- Previous experience assisting exploration drilling operations.
