Underground Drilling Career Opportunity

The Job Description

We are seeking skilled individuals for the position of Underground Diamond Driller's Assistant at our Cowal Operations in West Wylong New South Wales. As part of our commitment to continual improvement, we utilise industry leading technologies.

The successful candidate will be required to DIDO on a 14:14 roster from West Wylong or FIFO from Sydney (or within 300km of Sydney Airport).

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Handling inner tubes to retrieve core and empty into core trays.
  • Repetitive heavy lifting of over 20kgs.
  • Maintaining all equipment and ensuring workspaces are clean, including washing the LV at end of shift.
  • Identifying and rectifying potential hazards and communicating immediately to the Driller or Supervisor.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Current Australian manual driver's licence.
  • National Police Clearance (within 3 months of issue).
  • Clear ability to speak, read and write in fluent English.
  • A proactive attitude toward safety and hazard identification.
  • Ability to perform shift work and be away from home for two weeks at a time.
  • Mechanically minded and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen.
  • A positive work ethic in line with our vision and principles.
  • Availability to attend the assessment centre for our selection process.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Working at Heights Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Previous experience in labour intensive, physical role.
  • Previous experience assisting exploration drilling operations.
