Disability Support Specialist

As a Disability Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and make choices that matter.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for providing personalised assistance to customers, including community access and transport, social supports, personal care, and domestic duties.

  • Community access and transportation services
  • Social support and companionship
  • Personal care and hygiene assistance
  • Domestic duties and meal preparation

You may also be required to administer medication (training provided) and assist customers with daily living tasks.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support (desirable), as well as current CPR, First Aid, and Manual Handling certificates. You must also have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for transporting customers.

  • Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support (desirable)
  • CPR certificate completed in the last 12 months
  • First Aid certificate completed in the last 3 years
  • Manual Handling completed in the last 12 months
  • NDIS Workers Screening
  • South Australian Working with Children screening
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module
  • NDIS Supporting Safe Meals Training
  • NDIS Supporting Effective Communication
