Overview

With over 20,000 employees across more than 550 stores in Australia, Chemist Warehouse is a leading pharmacy group with an exciting future ahead. Following the merger with Sigma Healthcare, we are entering a new chapter as a publicly listed company, expanding into New Zealand, Ireland, China, and beyond.

We are currently seeking a Senior People & Culture Advisor to join our national team. This role plays a key part in supporting our leaders and team members throughout the entire employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on providing guidance on complex workplace decisions, shaping a positive culture, and coaching leaders with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver proactive, solutions-focused Employee Relations advice across stores, head office, and distribution centers.
  • Support leaders with end-to-end case management, performance concerns, and employee grievances.
  • Coach managers on best-practice processes, including investigations, disciplinary outcomes, and fair decision-making.
  • Act as a point of escalation and provide leadership to advisors as needed.
  • Draft formal documentation and communications with precision and professionalism.
  • Interpret employment legislation, Modern Awards, EAs, and policies to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Identify areas for improvement in ER practices and help drive cultural uplift across the business.
  • Champion fairness, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Travel occasionally (locally/interstate) to build relationships and provide in-person support where needed.

Requirements

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Employee Relations and workplace dispute resolution.
  • Deep knowledge of Australian employment legislation and IR frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in managing complex cases and influencing decision-makers.
  • A calm, fair, and commercially aware mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Digital fluency with confidence using HR systems.
  • Experience in retail, pharmaceutical, or service-based industries (highly regarded).
