About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Coastal Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our Coastal team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality coastal engineering services to public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage key projects to ensure output is of a technically high standard
  • Lead coastal processes investigations, including hydraulics, sediment transport, and water quality
  • Design and lead coastal infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, condition assessments, and dredging studies
  • Develop and lead coastal engineering proposals
  • Oversee numerical modeling to simulate oceanographic and coastal processes
  • Provide technical leadership and specialist advice to team members and clients
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other environmental, water, and port-related disciplines to deliver projects
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualifications in Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in coastal/marine data collection, environmental assessment, coastal structure condition assessment, and coastal processes investigations
  • Strong working knowledge of coastal and ocean modeling systems, including Delft3D, Litpack, Mike, and SWAN
  • Experience project managing coastal engineering projects, including multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to win work and write proposals
  • Experience designing coastal structures, such as breakwaters and groynes
  • Field experience using ADCP's and other met-ocean equipment
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
