Administrative Assistant

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to senior leaders in the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
As an Executive Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the office of a senior executive, working collaboratively with other team members, and undertaking duties such as:
- Managing a busy mailbox and calendar
- Preparing correspondence and briefing packs
- Organising meetings and travel arrangements
- Coordinating administrative tasks and managing office systems
You will also provide general support to the branch with all relevant administrative tasks when required.
About Our TeamThe CASG is an integral part of the Department of Defence, responsible for procuring and maintaining military equipment and supplies. The Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.

Our Ideal CandidateYou will have relevant experience or demonstrable skills required in supporting senior executives and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Your ability to interact with an integrated workforce (military and civilian) at all levels, in a fast-paced environment, working under tight deadlines, while retaining a calm and good-natured approach, will see you provide seamless support to the senior executive.
As an APS4 Executive Assistant, you will perform moderately complex administrative support tasks, including:
- Using initiative to make informed decisions
- Taking a collaborative approach
- Possessing excellent communication skills to engage with a range of stakeholders
- Demonstrating a high degree of professionalism
- Having strong attention to detail and being task-oriented
