Bridging Cultural Gaps

We are seeking a visionary leader to fill the role of Principal Program Manager within our Aboriginal Outcomes Team.

This pivotal position involves leading and managing NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure work under the National Agreement for Closing the Gap. You will be responsible for facilitating key decisions, handling sensitive matters effectively, and demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will lead a team working closely with the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) and Native Title Service Corporation (NTSCORP) to engage communities and explore legislative reforms in NSW.

To succeed in this role, you must possess sensitivity to and understanding of Aboriginal Culture, excellent communication skills, proven leadership qualities, solid time management and organisational skills, strong presentation skills, outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, and autonomy.

Requirements

  • Sensitivity to and understanding of Aboriginal Culture and an excellent understanding of Aboriginal community governance and structures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals
  • Solid time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate and present solutions, ideas and recommendations
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Enjoys autonomy and demonstrates proficiency in working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions
