
Design Solutions Architect

Key Responsibilities:- Develop conceptual designs for vehicle structures and size them based on flight loads, applying principles of mechanical engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create balanced designs that meet mass, cost, and capability requirements, fostering a culture of open communication.
- Generate detailed designs and create CAD models in NX for components, assemblies, and vehicle integration, utilizing software tools to streamline processes.
- Build finite element models to analyze structural concepts and validate designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Apply hand calculations and empirical formulas to rapidly assess and iterate on designs, driving efficiency and innovation.
- Validate designs through rigorous testing, assessing individual joints and design elements for strength, and iterating on improvements.
- Perform structural testing on subassemblies and full sections of the airframe, verifying design integrity and reliability.
- Partner with build engineers and technicians to optimize designs, leveraging expertise to drive project success.
- Support the assembly of hardware in the factory, witnessing designs take flight and contributing to program milestones.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, emphasizing structural design and analysis.
- 1+ years of experience designing, analyzing, or building structures, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.

- Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing and optimizing for high-volume production, minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
- Proven experience designing metallic structures, preferably stainless steel, with a focus on durability and performance.
- Ability to make informed executive decisions, balancing technical and business considerations to drive project success.
- Experience leading or working on an engineering competition team, developing skills in teamwork, leadership, and time management.
