Job Overview

The role of a Process Safety Specialist involves contributing to the success of our organization by ensuring that all processes are designed, implemented and operated in a safe manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain process safety management plans to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead and coordinate management of change activities and SAP administration to minimize risks associated with changes to plant operations.
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations and alarm management reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to integrate safety-critical controls into asset plans.
  • Conduct HAZOPs and CHAZOPs for new plant and processes to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and apply best practices in process safety management.
  • Deliver in-house training on process safety, MOC and technical compliance to enhance employee knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as engineering or science.
  • Experience in power generation, heavy industry, mining, oil and gas, or other high-risk environments.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements related to process safety.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve process safety issues.
