Category Manager Position Overview

The Category Manager is a senior role responsible for leading the growth and profitability of a category within our business. This includes developing and executing a customer-focused category strategy, managing inventory to annual budget targets, and identifying market/product opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a customer-centric category strategy in an omni-channel business environment.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet annual budget targets and optimize sales and profit performance.
  • Lead the category team and foster strong internal and external relationships.
  • Identify market/product opportunities and develop product ranges and competitive promotional calendars.
  • Conduct range reviews and maintain effective relationships with domestic and OS suppliers.
Requirements:
  • A strong commercial acumen and merchandise/category background, with a preference for omni-channel experience.
  • Analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and long-term strategic thinking and planning ability.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment and outstanding communication skills, collaborative and relationship building abilities.
  • An inspirational leadership style, customer-centric decision-making skills, and the ability to convince various stakeholders, business network, and suppliers in different regions to support category strategies and initiatives.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
