Assistant Director of Catering & Conference Services

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and develop a talented Catering team to achieve outstanding results and maintain a strong service culture.
  • Drive Catering Sales by negotiating with clients to maximise revenue and profit potential while meeting client needs and budget constraints.
  • Finalise all bookings, maximising revenue potential through upselling in all revenue-producing areas.
  • Manage group deposits, complete billing documents, and supply requested information to the finance team for accurate billing.
  • Finalise event requirements, ensuring effective communication with all departments through written reports and personal contact.
  • Participate in internal meetings with hotel departments and clients, including Operations Briefing, Daily Catering Briefing, Group Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meetings, Pre-Convention Meetings, Credit Meeting, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.
  • Oversee event execution, suggesting methods to enhance guest satisfaction and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with hotel departments in a supportive and flexible manner to ensure hotel success and guest satisfaction.


Requirements


  • At least 3 years of experience in events sales and planning leadership in a high-volume operation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines while handling multiple files and clients.
  • Solid communication and relationship-building skills to forge strong connections with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Solid local market and vendor knowledge, with a keen interest in current trends.
  • An exceptional eye for detail to ensure meticulous planning and execution of events.
