We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts and Payroll Officer to join our Finance Team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role is vital in maintaining financial accuracy through payroll reconciliation, superannuation compliance, and monthly bookkeeping functions. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant to ensure the seamless delivery of financial operations that support the ongoing success of our academic and support services.
- Assist the Senior Accountant in daily finance operations
- Support month-end close, including processing accruals and verifying expense completeness
- Calculate and record amortisation, depreciation, and prepayments
- Assist departments in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts (e.g. PAYG, superannuation payable, payroll clearing)
- Maintain accurate superannuation records in the payroll system
- Follow up on bounced superannuation payments to ensure timely resolution
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with superannuation obligations
- Provide ad hoc financial support as requested by management
- Assist with continuous improvement of financial processes across the institution
