About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Apprentice Coffee Roaster. This is a full-time role based out of our Melbourne roastery in Richmond, Victoria.

As an Apprentice Coffee Roaster, you will be responsible for performing the full coffee production process, including operating roasting equipment, managing quality control points, preparing green coffee, roasted coffee and packaging materials, and efficiently packing all coffee products.

You will also work with the dispatch team to fulfill orders and work on time-critical tasks. Additionally, you may be required to perform other general warehouse and production tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in coffee, such as working as a barista or other professional coffee role. However, prior experience in coffee roasting is not essential. What is essential is a passion for coffee, excellent communication skills, a conscientious and highly organized approach to work, and the ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a small-team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating roasting equipment and following roast profiles/procedures
  • Understanding quality control points and managing them appropriately
  • Precise preparation of green coffee, roasted coffee and packaging materials
  • Efficiently and precisely packing all coffee products
  • Working with the dispatch team to fulfill orders and work on time-critical tasks
  • Other general warehouse and production tasks as needed

Requirements:
