We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill the role of Development Strategist. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of successfully developing and executing fundraising strategies.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on cultivating and soliciting significant gifts from individual and family foundations. They will be responsible for developing and managing their own portfolio of major donors, as well as collaborating with other members of the development team to support board member fundraising activity and identify new foundation prospects.
This is a full-time position that requires a high level of organization, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with others. The successful candidate will be able to think strategically, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage your own portfolio of major donors, identifying and cultivating new relationships, as well as deepening existing ones, to achieve significant fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with other members of the development team to support board member fundraising activity, including donor research, materials preparation, and follow-up.
- Identify and cultivate new foundation prospects, working closely with colleagues to submit requests and reports, and maintaining a thorough understanding of the organization's overall development strategy.
- Participate in department meetings and company-wide events, staying up-to-date on organizational initiatives and priorities, and contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
- At least five years of experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on cultivating and soliciting significant gifts from individual and family foundations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, handle sensitive information with discretion, and work in a fast-paced environment.
