Job Overview

Xero aims to simplify business operations by providing efficient solutions that connect businesses with technology. As a Data Compliance Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of experts in data and security compliance.

The role involves leading a team in working with various parts of the business to enhance Xero's data and security compliance posture. This includes reducing security risks through improved efficiency and effectiveness of data and security controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of data and security compliance specialists.
  • Assess data and security compliance requirements across all areas of Xero's business.
  • Ensure internal and external security compliance obligations are met.
  • Maintain the information security management framework.
  • Engage and manage service providers delivering services related to Xero's data and security compliance practice.
  • Maintain automated and manual data & security testing programs across Xero products.
  • Assist in developing and delivering security awareness materials and training to Xero staff.
  • Respond to customer and supplier security assessments.
  • Provide measurement and reporting of Xero's compliance position to leadership.
Success Metrics:
  • All changes to Xero's product and corporate infrastructure comply with the IT Security Policy and meet Xero's compliance obligations.
  • Security assessments are completed and documented for all new third-party software and technology services prior to use.
  • Audits and other compliance assessment activities are completed successfully, and compliance is maintained with required standards.
  • Business Continuity Plans are developed, maintained, and tested according to an agreed schedule.
  • Security policy and standards are maintained to address current risks and compliance requirements.
  • Your team collaborates to ensure agreed objectives are met for operational performance and continue to improve the way the service operates and monitors.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years in an information security and Compliance management practice.
  • 5+ years in a Data Compliance management practice.
  • Experience implementing risk management and information management security frameworks.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining a highly motivated team.
