Job Summary:

The role of a Data Governance and Compliance Leader involves developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with regulations. This leader must address key issues within the data estate while driving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive data governance strategy that aligns with business goals.
  • Establish standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and quality.
  • Review, update, and communicate data governance and compliance policies across the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate data governance risks.
  • Work with the Cybersecurity team to manage data security risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor data governance and compliance metrics.
  • Define and implement data quality standards and metrics.
  • Promote best practices for data quality management and integrate metrics into data platforms.
  • Partner with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to align data governance with organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in data governance, management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies.
