Job Description:

We are seeking an Economist to join our Analytics, Data and Actuarial Division in New South Wales. This 12-month contract role offers a high potential for extension and provides an opportunity to work on strategic and tactical plans for market stewardship.

The Economic and Insights team examines cross-cutting economic issues within the agency using economic frameworks, research and modelling tools.

This is a great chance to apply your analytical skills and knowledge of economic policy to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing provider and participant data to identify potential market issues
  • Researching, compiling and cleaning data for inputs into input-output analysis, Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models, workforce modelling, and macroeconomic forecasting
  • Reviewing and analyzing economic data to develop pricing policies
  • Analyzing data using mathematical models and statistical techniques
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should have at least undergraduate qualifications in Economics, Econometrics or Finance, as well as applied economic policy experience.

You should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel, SAS, R, or other statistical analysis programs.

Please note that location in ACT, NSW, or VIC is a requirement for this position.

This role offers incredible work flexibility, including four days working from home and one day working from office per week.

Additionally, you will receive a fantastic day rate, up to $600 plus super per day depending on your experience.
