Job Title: Drainage Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Drainage Engineer to join our team at the City of Mandurah. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and planning in the City's drainage infrastructure, ensuring an efficient and sustainable drainage network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare stormwater management capital works programs to contribute to the effective and cost-efficient asset management of drainage infrastructure.
  • Ensure impact on community, infrastructure, and the environment is managed, with particular focus on water-sensitive urban design (WSUD).
  • Manage the delivery of detailed analysis, modelling, and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure in accordance with Council's strategic, legislative, and environmental requirements.
  • Provide professional advice and technical support to Management, Executive, Council, and Officers in matters relating to the safe and sustainable design, operation, and management of stormwater infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five or more years' relevant experience.
  • Current unrestricted C-class national driver's license.
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in using computerised asset management and related business systems.
  • Experience in CAD, GIS, and Modelling (hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality) software such as AutoCad, QGIS, DRAINS, PCSump, or similar software.
  • Extensive experience in investigation, analysis, and design of stormwater and WSUD systems.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing stormwater management studies and plans within budget, time, and quality standards.
  • Proven experience in the development approval process, including the assessment of development applications, planning proposals, masterplans, and major residential and commercial developments from stormwater management perspective with a particular focus on WSUD.
