Job Opportunity: Drainage Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Drainage Engineer to join our team at the City of Mandurah. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in the planning, design, and management of our drainage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and planning in the development of our drainage infrastructure, ensuring it is efficient and sustainable.
  • Prepare stormwater management capital works programs, taking into account the effective and cost-efficient management of our drainage assets.
  • Ensure the impact on the community, infrastructure, and environment is managed, with a focus on water-sensitive urban design (WSUD).
  • Manage the delivery of detailed analysis, modeling, and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure, in accordance with our strategic, legislative, and environmental requirements.
  • Provide professional advice and technical support to management, executive, council, and officers on matters related to the safe and sustainable design, operation, and management of stormwater infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five or more years' relevant experience.
  • Current unrestricted C-class national driver's license.
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in using computerized asset management and related business systems.
  • Experience in CAD, GIS, and modeling software such as AutoCAD, QGIS, DRAINS, PCSump, or similar software.
  • Extensive experience in investigation, analysis, and design of stormwater and WSUD systems.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing stormwater management studies and plans within budget, time, and quality standards.
  • Proven experience in the development approval process, including the assessment of development applications, planning proposals, master plans, and major residential and commercial developments from a stormwater management perspective, with a focus on WSUD.
