Job Title: Community Planning Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to contribute to our leisure, sport, recreation, and community infrastructure planning team.

This is a unique opportunity for you to make a significant impact on the development of strategic documents, policies, and projects that guide our approach to leisure, sport, recreation, and community infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To oversee the development and implementation of strategic documents, policies, and projects that support our leisure, sport, recreation, and community infrastructure goals.
  • To plan and coordinate capital works related to leisure and community facilities.
  • To build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • To communicate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualification in leisure, sport recreation, community infrastructure planning or a related area, with several years' experience in leisure, sport, recreation or community infrastructure planning.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sustainable initiatives and policy options for leisure, sport, recreation, or community plans.
  • Demonstrated ability in policy development and implementation through analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, liaison, and communication skills, including well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Local government experience is desirable.
  • Experience in managing collaborative projects across the organisation, including consultants, contractors, community, and Council staff.
