We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marketing Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team at the Garvan Research Foundation. As the custodian of the Garvan brand, you will be responsible for developing and producing key communication assets, including our supporter magazine Breakthrough and the Annual Report.

You will work closely with all members of the Marketing and Communications team, as well as service the Garvan Research Foundation and Institute. Your exceptional project management skills and stakeholder engagement skills will ensure that key communications are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the custodian of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research brand, keeping brand guidelines updated and championing its use throughout the Institute.
  • Develop and produce key communication assets, including Garvan's supporter magazine Breakthrough and the Annual Report.
  • Use expert project management skills and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure key communications are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard.
  • Collate, create and edit content for a range of assets that is engaging, accurate, and supports specific fundraising campaigns and the wider Institute stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of marketing/communications or other relevant experience.
  • Experience producing marketing materials.
  • Exceptional project management and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to effectively liaise with designers, making sure Garvan's interests are met, and processes are continuously reviewed and optimised.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in planning and managing of brand photoshoots, effectively liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and eye for detail in all completed work.
  • Professional interpersonal skills and presentation.
  • Able to effectively communicate equally with co-workers, senior management, management and other stakeholders.
  • High level computer skills (MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Self-motivated and works autonomously, using initiative when required with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise a busy workload.
