Support Caregiver Role

HammondCare At Home is expanding its services and seeks permanent part-time support caregivers to provide assistance to clients in their homes.

As a support caregiver, you will receive a work mobile phone, paid travel time, and kilometres. You can choose flexible days of the week and start and finish times, with weekend loading available if desired.

About the Role:

  • Provide essential care and support to help older people live independently at home and improve their quality of life.
  • Travel to clients' homes using your own car, for which you will be paid $0.99 per km plus paid travel time.

The Support Work You Will Be Doing May Include:

  • Providing personal care, such as helping with showering and dressing.
  • Assisting around the home, including meal preparation and light house cleaning.
  • Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping.
  • Helping with medication administration.

About You:

  • You must be able to relate to people and be patient and solutions-focused.
  • Previous experience in aged or community care is desirable, but not necessary.
  • You must have a valid Driver's Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (minimum Third Party Property Insurance).
  • A Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support is preferred, but we can assist with obtaining this qualification if needed.
  • You must be flexible in meeting the changing needs of home care clients.

Benefits:

  • $31.31 - $34.12 per hour, plus 99c/km, paid travel time, and a provided mobile phone.
  • Full training is provided to all caregivers, regardless of experience.

  • A First Aid Certificate will be provided and paid for by us.
  • Paid Certificate III in Aged Care training is available for those who wish to progress.
