">Role Overview">

This is a challenging opportunity to take your expertise in asset management to the next level and play a key role in ensuring the safety and performance of our iconic portfolio of dams and headworks assets.

">

As an Asset Management Specialist, you will be responsible for leading smart and efficient asset management through innovative condition monitoring, strategic maintenance planning, and project development either from a civil or mechanical engineering perspective.

">

Key responsibilities include undertaking intermediate and comprehensive dam safety inspections, continuously monitoring and responding to anomalies in dam surveillance data and field reports, and providing dam safety subject matter expertise across the business.

">

You will also carry out assigned asset management tasks in line with asset management processes and procedures, including but not limited to, determining maintenance strategies, monitoring asset conditions, responding to technical queries, conducting root cause analysis, and registering assets in Maximo.

">

Additionally, you will initiate and develop business cases for capital projects in line with Melbourne Water's capital management system.

">

Building and maintaining positive customer and stakeholder relationships, including providing technical advice to Service Delivery (Operations and Maintenance) in a collaborative way, is also an essential part of this role.

">Requirements">

To be successful in this role, you will need a tertiary qualification in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, with a general understanding of the water and sewerage system.

Highly developed understanding and experience in dam safety management and dams engineering, as well as the application of regulatory and industry good practice (ie ANCOLD Guidelines), are also essential.

">

Experience in risk-based lifecycle management of water industry assets or equivalent industry/infrastructure, including condition monitoring of assets, is highly desirable.

">

Strong interpersonal skills together with excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.

">

You will also need to demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritise and perform complex professional/technical work with general supervision and exercise professional/technical judgement.

">

Active registration in a relevant discipline (i.e. civil/mechanical) is also required.
