The role of an Assistant in Nursing requires a high level of compassion and dedication. As an AIN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to individuals, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support individuals with mobility needs, including transferring and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized living environment.
- Engage individuals in meaningful activities and conversations to promote mental alertness and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report changes in individuals' health status to nursing staff or supervisors promptly.
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments and outings, ensuring safe transportation and support.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided.
- Foster a respectful and supportive environment that upholds the dignity and independence of each individual.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
- First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
- National Police Check clearance.
- Working with Children Check (depending on the role).
- Compassion and empathy in caring for vulnerable individuals.
