**Therapeutic Care Specialist Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in Residential Out-of-Home Care.
About The Role:
- You will engage with and support Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals.
- Developing support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports, is an essential aspect of this role.
- Teach life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports, and engaging in schooling.
- Assess and support the developmental progress of our Young People.
- Liaise with stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
- Create activity plans and facilitate community engagement for the Young Person.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. Requirements:
- Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
- Availability for shift work, including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled
- Approved Licensed Care Service check through the department, or ability to obtain one
- Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
- First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
