**Therapeutic Care Specialist Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in Residential Out-of-Home Care.

About The Role:

  • You will engage with and support Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals.
  • Developing support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports, is an essential aspect of this role.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports, and engaging in schooling.
  • Assess and support the developmental progress of our Young People.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Create activity plans and facilitate community engagement for the Young Person.

Requirements:

  • Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
  • Availability for shift work, including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled
  • Approved Licensed Care Service check through the department, or ability to obtain one
  • Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
  • First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
