Critical Infrastructure Crisis Manager

The Clearing and Settlement Section is responsible for ensuring the infrastructure supporting financial markets operates in a way that promotes stability.
A crisis affecting a clearing or settlement facility can pose significant systemic risk to Australia's financial system. In this role, you will help develop strategies to protect financial system stability and build the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) crisis management toolkit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and testing crisis management plans for critical infrastructures
- Leading work to develop robust and legally sound processes and arrangements to deploy crisis management powers
- Collaborating closely with other parts of the clearing and settlement section including supervisors of critical infrastructure and subject matter experts
- Leading engagement with stakeholders including other domestic regulators and critical infrastructures
- Collaborating widely within the RBA including engaging with other areas working on crisis readiness
- Working with RBA executives and the Payments System Board
- Contributing to international policy development in relation to FMI resolution and crisis readiness
Required skills and qualifications:
- Highly familiar with Australian financial markets, including critical infrastructure
- Experienced in developing and applying crisis management or resolution frameworks
- Results-driven with a demonstrated ability to drive towards solutions in a dynamic environment
- Excellent written and personal communication skills, with strong presentation skills and the ability to manage and coordinate a wide range of stakeholders
- Team player contributing to a committed and collaborative department
- Exceptional integrity, keen to contribute to the Australian community
- Ideal tertiary qualified and experienced in one or more relevant areas such as economics, financial services, markets, law, regulation and public policy
