Financial Markets Specialist
About the Role:The Reserve Bank of Australia is seeking a Financial Markets Specialist to join our Payments Policy Department. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new resolution and crisis response frameworks for critical financial infrastructure.
You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to develop strategies to protect financial system stability and build the RBA's crisis management toolkit. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the RBA's approach to crisis management in a rapidly evolving area.
Day-to-day activities include:
- Contributing to and testing crisis management plans for critical infrastructures
- Developing robust and legally sound processes and arrangements to deploy crisis management powers
- Collaborating with other parts of the clearing and settlement section, including supervisors of critical infrastructure and subject matter experts
- Engaging with stakeholders, including other domestic regulators and critical infrastructures
This role requires a passionate individual with experience in markets, financial market infrastructures, regulatory practice and/or crisis management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure financial system stability
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance crisis readiness
