Job Title: Family Support Specialist

About The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to work with individuals and families in need of support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case management within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
  • Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports, and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
  • Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management, Mental Health).
  • Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
  • Knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services, and Health Sectors.
  • Demonstrated case management experience.
  • Experience facilitating psychoeducation and therapeutic groups to diverse populations.
  • Capacity to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviour utilising de-escalation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with problems associated with substance abuse, gambling, and mental health conditions.
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • At least two years' experience in recovery, if applicable.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check.
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
