Description

  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Support Worker - Dual Diagnosis. In this role, you will provide peer support and advocacy for individuals with dual diagnosis in the emergency department.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide peer support and advocacy for individuals with dual diagnosis in the emergency department
  2. Develop and maintain partnerships with families and carers and liaise with consumers, clinicians and services to improve the consumer journey and treatment outcomes
  3. Contribute to a safe and supportive environment and collaborate with Mental Health Emergency Teams
  4. Work weekends and after-hours as required
  5. May travel across the district to support service delivery

Requirements

  • Lived experience of mental health and drug and/or alcohol issues
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Certificate IV in Peer Work or willingness to undertake the Certificate IV in Peer Work
  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence
