About Our Dual Diagnosis Role

The Dual Diagnosis Peer Support Worker position plays a vital role in enhancing treatment outcomes for individuals with dual diagnosis.

This challenging yet rewarding role requires an individual with a lived experience of mental health and drug and/or alcohol issues to provide peer support and advocacy.

The successful candidate will develop strong partnerships with families, carers, clinicians, and services to improve the consumer journey and treatment outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing peer support and advocacy for individuals with dual diagnosis in emergency departments
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with families and carers, and liaising with consumers, clinicians, and services
  • Contribution to a safe and supportive environment and collaboration with Mental Health Emergency Teams
  • Working weekends and after-hours as required
  • Traveling across the district to support service delivery
