Health Safety Manager

A pivotal leadership position responsible for driving excellence in health, safety and environmental performance within a large-scale mining operation.

  • Develop and implement effective HSE strategies to enhance organisational culture and elevate safety standards.
  • Champion a proactive safety approach focused on hazard identification and behavioural leadership.
  • Promote alignment between safety objectives and operational goals through collaborative partnerships with senior leaders, operational teams and contractors.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, internal standards and industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies to advance organisational interests.
  • Analyse and report on HSE performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver comprehensive training and capability development programs across all levels of the organisation.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in HSE leadership within mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety legislation, environmental management and risk frameworks.
  • Proven ability to drive cultural change and improve safety performance.
  • Experience in contractor management and collaborative safety initiatives.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
