Job Overview

The Team Leader Rail is responsible for overseeing a crew that conducts vegetation removal and drain maintenance works along the rail corridor from Wollongong to Nowra.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the crew to perform vegetation clearance and drainage maintenance duties
  • Coordinate and schedule tasks for the team members
  • Operate excavators and drive trucks as required
  • Utilize various machinery, chainsaws, mowers, snippers, etc. to support the works
  • Ensure all activities are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
  • Maintain liaison with rail authorities to ensure smooth operations
  • Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and compliance checks
Essential Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or laboring within a small team of 3-4 people
  • Ability to travel extensively across the South Coast region
  • Hold a valid driver's license and HR license with a clean driving record
  • RIW ticket (mandatory)
  • Commitment to a drug & alcohol-free workplace where applicable
  • White Card (obligatory)
  • Desirable skills include excavator operation with a bucket
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Candidates must be able to provide copies of relevant certificates and undergo a pre-employment health & drug test if necessary.
