About the Opportunity

Austin Health is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Care Specialist to join its Inner North Infant and Child Team. This exciting role presents an opportunity to provide high-quality clinical case management services to infants, children, and their families.

Job Summary

This full-time position (38 hours) involves assessing and treating patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in continuing education activities. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in direct care and a keen interest in developing their skillset.

The Role

As a Mental Health Care Specialist, you will work closely with the team to deliver expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment interventions to infants, children, and their families. You will also be required to lead, mentor, and coach junior team members and provide discipline-specific supervision to others across the organisation.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients, liaising as appropriate with family members and caregivers
  • Facilitate a coordinated approach to total patient management by working with other team members
  • Participate in continuing education activities to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the division to achieve optimal patient outcomes
About You

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to excellence in direct care, and a keen interest in developing their skillset. You will need a relevant qualification, current AHPRA registration, and the ability to provide treatment for a wide variety of mental health concerns in children and adolescents.
