About The Role

This is a pivotal opportunity to join Public Sector People as a Senior Business Support Officer. In this role, you will play a key part in leading and coordinating staff travel planning, operational process management, and governance assurance within the division. Your efforts will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, directives, and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage staff travel planning and governance assurance processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, directives, and policies.
  2. Execute travel bookings and process travel claims, with the ability to manage overflow and peak processing as needed.
  3. Develop, implement, and review systems and processes to achieve best practice standards for staff travel and other business support functions, including exploring new travel system options.
  4. Liaise with internal stakeholders to evaluate and improve business process performance.
  5. Provide clear and concise briefs, communications, and guidance related to staff travel and other business support functions.
  6. Deliver timely and accurate reporting for monitoring and managing costs and other business support activities.
  7. Work independently, using initiative to resolve issues and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Requirements

  1. Experience in ensuring travel directive and policy compliance, particularly within government, is highly desired. However, substantial comparable experience will also be considered.
  2. Knowledge of or experience with travel and expense management systems is advantageous.
  3. A well-rounded background in operational and business support will be viewed favourably.
  4. The ability to start within a short timeframe is critical.

This is a temporary engagement with the potential for further extension. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a proactive and organized individual with excellent communication skills.
