Advanced Data Governance Framework Specialist

Job Overview: As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data governance framework that ensures the accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility of institutional data across domains. This involves establishing and leading a strategic data governance program that aligns with our institution's goals and objectives.

Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and master data management principles. You will also have expertise in data profiling, lineage tracking, cataloguing, and business glossary creation, as well as proficiency in tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data standards, stewardship models, and governance structures that align with our institution's goals and compliance requirements.
  • Design and implement processes for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, metadata management, and automation-driven data quality improvement.
  • Evaluate and improve data privacy and security policies to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Develop training programs to promote governance best practices among stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in data governance, with a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and master data management principles.
  • Expertise in data profiling, lineage tracking, cataloguing, and business glossary creation, as well as proficiency in tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations relevant to higher education.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools to communicate governance insights.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and tracking Data Quality Metrics (DQMs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and data health dashboards.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical perspectives—working effectively with both IT teams and business stakeholders.

About the Role:

  • This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility of institutional data across domains.
  • The position leads efforts to improve data quality and consistency across systems such as student information systems (SIS), HR and Identity platforms.
