About the Role



We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Manager to lead our primary care services in Darwin, Australia.



Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver and maintain high-quality primary health care services to detainees residing in immigration detention facilities within the Australasian Region.
  • To manage and lead the day-to-day operations of our medical facility in consultation with the Health Services Manager and/or Area Medical Director.
  • To provide clinical reports as directed by the Health Services Manager and/or Area Medical Director to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To ensure compliance with privacy legislation and IHMS policies and procedures, including confidentiality agreements.
  • To demonstrate effective management of the nursing team through proactive and supportive engagement and execution of the Performance Management Process.
  • To manage ordering and monitoring of stock within the Medical Facility (APOD).
  • To administer medications and immunisations as necessary.


About You




  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Full & valid working rights in Australia.
  • Significant health management experience gained from working in a large multi-faceted health business with broad clinical experience in primary health, mental health, emergency and public health.
  • Previous nursing experience in a detention/correctional facility is highly desirable;
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in health administration, health management, or Business is desirable.
  • Current First Aid or Basic Life Support certification (or willingness to obtain one).

Estimated Salary: AU$85,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
