**Family Support Specialist Role**

  • This position involves working with vulnerable families to enhance child safety, strengthen parenting capacity, and support placement stability, restoration, and family preservation.
About The Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in therapeutic work, care coordination, and advocacy. You will provide therapy, care coordination, and advocacy to families experiencing child protection concerns, working alongside a team of experienced professionals.

This outreach service meets families in their own communities - working together to keep children safe and support recovery from trauma.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assessing family needs, developing case plans, and coordinating services to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide high-quality therapy, care coordination, and advocacy services to families experiencing child protection concerns.
  2. Work collaboratively with a team of Child Protection Counsellors and an Aboriginal Health and Family Worker to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  3. Assess family needs and develop case plans to address these needs.
  4. Coordinate services to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience in therapeutic work, care coordination, and advocacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
