About The Position

The Substance Use In Pregnancy And Parenting Service is a community-based program that provides support to parents and families impacted by substance use. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic, family-centred care to women during pregnancy and early parenting.

A typical week may include assessments, counselling, and coordinating care alongside a multidisciplinary team. This position requires adaptability, strong relationship-building skills, and a trauma-informed approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialised support to women during pregnancy and early parenting.
  • Assess and address the needs of clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and services.
Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a related field.
  • Extensive clinical experience in working with families affected by substance use.
  • Membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
