Senior Indigenous Affairs Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Indigenous Affairs Advisor to join our People team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will support the development of State Based Social Inclusion Strategies for VIC, NSW & QLD, and work closely with Procurement and Operations to identify opportunities for social benefit suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement State Based Social Inclusion Strategies for VIC, NSW & QLD
- Work closely with Procurement and Operations to identify opportunities for social benefit suppliers
- Establish targets and reporting requirements for relevant tenders
- Support the delivery and implementation of Laing O'Rourke's RAP and alignment with Indigenous Affairs strategy
- Coordinate and manage key Indigenous initiatives, programs, partnerships and memberships
- Coordinate and manage delivery of Cultural Awareness Training
- Support Head of Indigenous Affairs on identifying State and Federal funding to support social inclusion programs
About You
- Understanding of training or employment and development or work experience in a similar role within construction industry
- Strong understanding of current Government policy and requirements specific to Social Procurement and Workforce Inclusion
- Experience in developing and delivering inclusive employment programs
- Strong understanding of procurement and commercial or work experience in a similar role within construction industry
- Strong experience in dealing with Indigenous businesses and/or social enterprises
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to problem solve and develop creative solutions
- Ability to work with local community groups, support services and key stakeholders
- Ability to work within a complex Project environment
- Understanding of policy papers, briefs, project deeds and Scope performance requirements
